COURSE DESCRIPTION

TSWA Event Decor & Design Mentorship Program provides complete training in Wedding and Event Design and Decor.

This program consists of classes that will take you through every aspect of Decor styling and Design — from a first meeting with a NEW potential Decor client and how to sell Decor, to how to create a Design Vision/Inspiration Boards, to the very hands-on Decor classes with experienced Draping Artists and Designers who will not only “Mentor” you but help you gain confidence with all of the latest and most trendy Styling and Draping techniques. You will also shadow us at actual “Real-World” Events and see what a Set Up and Tear Down, looks like.

Explore trends, industry terminology, colour matching, popular themes, table structures, and the latest design trends. You’ll observe our interaction with potential Decor clients, participate in helping create a Mock Table Set up – live and in our studio with one of our “Mentor” designers. Observe how we guide clients to choose colours and themes and help navigate their Decor vision to create a beautiful and flawless presentation.

This Mentorship Program is ideal for individuals who:

• ✓ Are passionate about creativity and design and are interested in getting into the Weddings and Events Industry.
• ✓ Have existing training in event or wedding planning and would like to advance their career and offer Decor as a second option.
• ✓ Want to start their own event Decor business and learn How to sell Decor, learn all techniques for Decor, and
• ✓ Want to work for a Decor company and come to our program hoping to gain the experience necessary to give them a competitive edge over other candidates.

CLASS SCHEDULE

• Class 1 – Sitting in on a new client consultation – “How to sell Decor”
• Class 2 – Attending a Decor Trial
• Class 3 – 1 Hour Lesson on Head Table Styling / Redo Studio Tables
• Class 4 – 3 Hour Lesson on the Basics of Backdrop, Canopy, 2 Pole Canopy Draping – How to set up and Tear Down
• Class 5 – 4 Decor Set ups – Observe or Participate
• Class 6 – 2 Decor Tear Down’s – Observe or Participate
• Class 7 – Optional 2 Decor Set up’s and 1 Tear Downs add 7% to Exam
• Class 8 – Final Exam
• Final Exam – Design a Backdrop / Setup, Execution of a Head Table, Cake Table, Receiving Table and Podium

Extra Credits
• Event Decor Tear Downs – Extra 1% on Exam Mark for every additional Tear Down
• Volunteer at 2 Bridal Shows/Shifts – extra 3% on your grade
